Shraddha Kapoor Says She's Doing 'One Film In Three Years': 'My Next Film Hasn't Even Been...'

Shraddha Kapoor recently delivered the juggernaut, Stree 2. The film was directed by Amar Kaushik and broke several records at the box office. Shraddha reflected on her recent success and how her pattern of choosing films has changed over the years.

She said at the SCREEN launch event, “I feel like, very honestly, I believe that my best is yet to come. I definitely want to feel, when I’m going to be in a film, that there’s going to be something exciting for me as an actor. There’s going to be something riveting, a story with a message subliminally passed on to the audience.”

“There was a time when I was doing films back to back, now it’s become the opposite. It’s like one film in three years. That happened with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar and Baaghi 3 and it’s fine. I have found my comfort in that now. I want to be a part of films where I feel fulfilled as an actor and (where) I can push myself as an actor as well. (I) definitely (want to) do something different than I have done before,” she added.

However, she mentioned, “But that doesn’t mean that I have to have a lineup of films, my next film hasn’t even been announced and it’s ok because it takes a lot for anybody to be a part of a film. It takes months and a lot of work and a lot of prep. So, till I feel that from the bottom of my heart, yeah…”

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is still reeling in the love for Stree 2. Speaking about the love that the franchise received, she said, “The kind of love and accolades the first part received were immense. It all started there. Hats off to the director, writer and producer for cracking a sequel. It’s important not to make a sequel just for the sake of it — you need substance to bring people to theatres and earn genuine appreciation.”

“They stayed true to how a sequel should be made and cracked the story of Stree 2. It had all the entertainment factors, brilliant actors and really entertaining dialogues. I believe it was a fabulous team effort. It was pure cinematic joy… And ultimately, the audience decides, right? They leave their homes seeking entertainment and we’re happy we could deliver,” she mentioned.
