Renuka Swamy Murder Case: Darshan's Wife Reactivates Her Instagram Account
On the day of Darshan's arrest, Vijayalakshmi had reportedly deleted her Instagram account, but now it has been reactivated.

In a surprising turn of events, Vijayalakshmi, wife of Kannada actor and challenger Darshan, has reactivated her Instagram account. Recently, she removed her profile photo and unfollowed everyone including her husband and temporarily deactivated it after Darshan was arrested along with his friend Pavithra Gowda in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case.

Darshan’s arrest in the murder case has shocked his close friends and family. None of his family members, neither his brother Dinakar Thoogudeepa, a film director, nor his mother Meena Thoogudeepa – have reportedly visited the actor since his arrest.

On the day of Darshan’s arrest, Vijayalakshmi had reportedly deleted her Instagram account, but now it has been reactivated. After reactivating her account, she deleted all previous posts and deleted all the people who followed her. She has retained her old username, Viji Darshan, with the bio still reading ‘Vijayalakshmi Darshan’, but she has removed her profile picture and all previous content.

Recently, Anil Babu, the lawyer hired by Vijayalakshmi for Darshan in the murder case, had told the media that Vijayalakshmi was distressed over certain reports. “Vijayalakshmi is deeply upset that some media are referring to Pavithra Gowda as Darshan’s wife. Vijayalakshmi is the only legal wife of Darshan and not Pavitra Gowda. The media should refrain from such mislabeling,” the lawyer told the press.

Vijayalakshmi and Darshan have been married since 2003 and have a son. The relationship between the two has seen turbulence before. In 2011, Darshan was accused of assaulting Vijayalakshmi and causing serious injuries. She later withdrew the case and the couple reconciled.

The reactivation of Vijayalakshmi’s Instagram account suggests that she may soon break her silence on the ongoing case that has kept the public and the media on tenterhooks. As the court would be shut on Sunday and Monday (Bakrid)- a public holiday, the police decided to produce them before Judge Vishwanath C Goudar. With this, Darshan, Gowda and others will continue to be in police custody till June 20.
