Santa Claus is missing? That’s the shocking premise of the highly anticipated Red One trailer which was recently dropped on YouTube. Directed by acclaimed director Jake Kasden, Red One promises an action-adventure comedy film that takes viewers on a thrilling quest to find and rescue the children’s favourite Santa Claus. The upcoming film blends the adrenaline-filled action with laugh-out-loud moments, making it a must-watch for this holiday season.
In the trailer, we see Dwayne Johnson portraying the role of Callum Drift, the head of North Pole security while Evans plays Jack O’Malley, a top-notch hacker. As the trailer reveals, Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicolas of Myra and referred to as Red One, has been kidnapped, throwing the North Pole headquarters into chaos and raising the alarming possibility of no Christmas.
Dwayne Johnson’s character, Callum, is entrusted with the critical mission to rescue Santa and save the holiday. To achieve this, he teams up with Evans’ character, Jack, an exceptional hacker, who despite being a human is tasked to locate Santa. The trailer showcases the duo in a series of high-octane adventures, from high-speed chases to intense hand-to-hand combat with mystical creatures including Snowmen. And of course, you know about Santa Claus’ naughty list where children miss out on gifts for their misdeeds? Well, that is also the part of the film with different levels.
Alongside the adrenaline-pumping action, the trailer also features plenty of humour with Johnson and Evans sharing several amusing moments that promise to delight audiences.
Sharing the trailer of the film, Johnson wrote, “We both love Christmas and took Christmas lore and Christmas legend, shook it up and flipped it on its head. Just like we wanted to do to each other. Ladies and gents, enjoy our new trailer for RED ONE and experience Christmas like never before. Only in theaters November 15th.”

Alongside Johnson and Evans, the ensemble cast of Red One features Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, J. K. Simmons, Nick Kroll and Kristofer Hivju in supporting roles.
The original story, penned by Hira Garcia, the President of Seven Bucks Productions, was highly sought after and secured by Amazon after a competitive bidding process. The screenplay has been crafted by Chris Morgan.
Produced by Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Kasdan, Melvin Mar and Morgan, Red One is set to release in US theatres on November 15. The film will also have a simultaneous global release through Warner Bros Pictures during the same month, as reported by Deadline.
