Telugu Cinema is all set to gear up for a Christmas race at the box office. Two highly anticipated films, Game Changer and Pushpa 2: The Rule, might compete against each other during the season. Pushpa 2: The Rule was supposed to hit the theatres on August 15 this year, but the film still has not completed its shooting. Double iSmart, directed by Puri Jagannath, has already been announced for August 15. So, it is clear that Pushpa 2 will be postponed. The makers have officially announced the postponement on social media with a long note. They also locked a new release date, which is December 6. On Monday evening, Allu Arjun shared a new poster of Pushpa 2: The Rule on his X-handle. It shows him in his titular role as Pushpa Raj, wearing a grey T-shirt, a brown shirt over it and a matching bandana on his head. He held a sword in his hand, resting menacingly on his shoulder. Allu Arjun looked at the camera and had a deadly expression on his face. His caption read, “#Pushpa2TheRule in theatres from December 6, 2024”.
The shooting of Game Changer, starring Ram Charan in the lead role and directed by Shankar, is already underway. It is also said that the film is eyeing the Christmas season. Game Changer has already been postponed several times and the shooting has also been paused at times. So, Dil Raju is keen to release the film this year.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is scheduled to be shot for 60 days more. A good time for its release is the Christmas season after Independence Day. The team will have to wait for 3 more months for next summer if they miss this season. Hence, the team is also very confident of completing the part and then releasing it. It would be the first time that Ram Charan and Allu Arjun would be pitted against each other in a festive season, if these reports are true.
