Soon after Rakul Preet Singh became an actress in the South industry, she also participated in the Miss India pageant. In a recent chat, she recalled how her family supported her and gave her their relentless support. In fact, Rakul Preet’s father even insisted on going bikini shopping with her.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Rakul said, “My mom made me see that I am a drama queen who should explore showbiz. She encouraged me to try for Miss India and start modelling. My dad has always been very supportive as well.” Rakul further added, “They told me to keep my head on my shoulders. If they ever felt I was losing my way, they would say, ‘Pack your bags and come home.’ They’ve been very supportive.”
Rakul recalled an incident when her father insisted on going bikini shopping with her for the Miss India pageant. She said, “My dad wanted to come shopping with me for bikinis, telling me to buy bright colours.” However, she insisted on taking her mother instead. She said, “I was like, ‘Okay, I know you love me but I will take mom with me.’ I have been very lucky to have supportive parents.”
After trying her luck at the pageant, Rakul Preet Singh ventured into the Hindi film industry. Rakul debuted in Bollywood with the film Yaariyan in 2014. It was directed by Divya Khosla Kumar. It starred Himanshu Kohli, Nicole Faria, Rakul Preet Singh and Nicole Faria in the lead roles.
After the success of this film, she never looked back and shared screens with superstars like Ravi Teja, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Jr NTR in Telugu films. She became the leading choice for Telugu film producers. She starred in films like Dhruva, Sarrainodu, Nannaku Prematho, Bruce Lee, Kick 2, Winner, Rarandoi Veduka Chudham, Jaya Janaki Nayaka and Spyder.
