Preity Zinta Makes Faces, Holds Jaya Close While Aishwarya Rai Delivers Winning Speech in Viral Video

Long before Aishwarya Rai was a Bachchan bahu, she crossed paths with Jaya Bachchan at an awards show. An old video revealed that Jaya had presented Aishwarya with a Best Actress award for one of her films with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The veteran actress was joined by Preity Zinta on stage. In the video shared on Reddit, Aishwarya gracefully accepted the award and was delivering her acceptance speech when Jaya and Preity were seen chatting on the sides.

In the video, Aishwarya was decked up in what seems to be in her Devdas avatar, seemingly for a performance at the awards show. Standing at the podium, Aishwarya thanked everyone involved in helping her win the award. As she thanked Jaya, Preity and everyone, the presenters appeared to be sweating and made faces due to the heat. Preity also wrapped her arm around Jaya as they waited for Aishwarya to finish.

“I thank everybody who’s made it possible for me to receive this award today. It’s an absolute honour. I thank the industry for having shown their faith, my audience for your unconditional love, the unit for this excellent film, everybody involved in making this classic and inspiring me to give my best. And most of all, I’d like to dedicate the award to all of those who don’t get the opportunity and the honour to hold this lovely black lady. The entire unit, the lighting department, the setting department, the people who worked on the post-production, the assistants who worked under the keen eye of Sanjay,” she said at the awards show.

Years later, Aishwarya Rai met Jaya’s son Abhishek Bachchan and dated for a brief period of time before getting married in April 2007. They welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in November 2011. Abhishek and Aishwarya have starred together in multiple movies such as Dhoom 2 (2006), Guru (2007) and Raavan (2010), among others.
