Talking to PTI, Janhvi said, “Somehow it makes me feel closer to my mom, to be in that environment, as well as to hear and speak in that language. It just felt like it was the right time, I felt I was gravitating towards it. Mom has such a history with the families of NTR sir and Ram Charan sir, it’s my honour that I’m able to work with both these extremely talented actors”

Devara is set against the coastal lands and is helmed by Koratala Siva. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in South films and her first-ever collaboration with Jr. NTR. Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per reports, Devara is being made on a huge budget. The makers are reportedly spending a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX. The rumour mill is rife that the makers are also spending 33 percent of the movie’s original budget on special effects.

Directed by Koratala Siva, ‘Devara Part 1’ will unfold in two parts. The magnum opus is produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, and presented by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram.

Meanwhile, Janhvi and Rajkummar have won the audience’s hearts as their film ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ landed a great start at the box office. The film collected Rs 6.85 crore on its day 1.

News18 Showsha has rated the film 3/5. Our review said, “Janhvi imbibes the role of a cricketer well. She brings a breath of fresh air every time the film gets a little gloomy. Rajkummar as the dejected Mahendra steals the show. He carries the film on his shoulder on most parts. The scenes in which he embraces the grey side of his character proves he is a great fit for the role.”
