Dhanraj Koranani is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Telugu cinema and television. Dhanraj recently shared in an interview that his film Dhanalakshmi Thalupu Tadithe, which starred Sreemukhi as the lead actress, initially received positive reviews. Sreemukhi even mentioned to him that she was unable to get tickets for the film, which pleased Dhanraj. His joy was short-lived. Just a week after his film’s release, Baahubali premiered, drawing immense attention and dominating cinema screens.
This timing was detrimental to Dhanraj’s film. With Baahubali taking over most theatres, his film struggled to find screening space, resulting in a significant audience and revenue loss. Dhanraj, who had invested all his savings and even borrowed money from friends to fund the production, found himself facing substantial financial losses. In an interview, he expressed that during this period, he felt like he lost everything.
He started his film career with Teja’s film, Jai. Dhanraj entered the film industry with just Rs 400 and left his hometown and parents without any notice. He worked in a hotel in Hyderabad and attended an acting school. He led a team, Dhanadhan Dhanraj, in a popular TV comedy show, Jabardasth, airing on ETV.
Dhanraj acted opposite Lakshmi Manchu in the unreleased film Pilavani Perantam. Dhanraj participated in the Telugu reality series Bigg Boss 1. He was eliminated in the 6th week. He was the team leader of Dhanraj Blasters in the comedy show Adhirindhi on Zee Telugu.
Dhanraj will reportedly make his directorial debut in a Dil Raju film. The upcoming film is said to be an emotional project in the vein of a successful film like Balagam. Samuthirakani will play the lead role in the film. Dil Raju, impressed by the story, readily came on board to pool resources for the film. The official announcement of the film is expected during the Dussehra festival.
