Krishnamma Review: Actor Satyadev Kancharana Saves This Film With An Outdated Storyline
The emotional aspect of Krishnamma impresses the viewers, but for a short period.

Director VV Gopala Krishna-directed Krishnamma released at the cinema halls on May 10. Starring actors like Satyadev Kancharana, Laxman Meesala, Krishna Burugula and Athira Raj, this film has garnered mixed to poor reviews upon its release. Krishnamma is described as a blend of action and drama. Arunachala Creations has backed this film with the composer Kaala Bhairava scoring the music. Sunny Kurapati has handled the cinematography of the movie. The narrative of the film begins with the premise of three orphan boys Bhadra (Satyadev Kancharana), Shiva (Krishna Burugula) and Koti (Laxman Meesala) growing up on Krishna River’s banks in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. They are embroiled in the crime of selling drugs. Their life takes a turn with the entry of a police officer. Soon Bhadra, Shiva and Koti also get embroiled in the murder of a woman. How they get out of this trouble forms the premise of Krishnamma.

Story

The emotional aspect of Krishnamma impresses the viewers for a short time but the entertainment is cut short with a slow and tepid first half. Director Gopala Krishna could have avoided putting the romantic track in this film. This is because the movie revolves majorly around friendship and revenge. There are, however, some twists that make the plot of the film compelling, like where Bhadra, Shiva and Koti getting into loggerheads with the police. They do so after discovering the real identity of the lady. How a false case is forced upon three innocent people will remind the viewers of films like Visaranai and Jai Bhim. The climax of Krishnamma is another enthralling factor for the viewers.

Acting

Satyadev ticks all the boxes correctly, when it comes to essaying the role of Bhadra. He is especially effective in the dramatic portions of the second half. A majority of the audience can connect with his acting skills when it comes to expressing his emotions at the time of losing his friend. Other cast members have also offered good performances but no novelty in the storyline didn’t allow them to shine brighter.

Kaala Bhairava’s music and Sunny Kurapati’s cinematography are the plus points of the film.
