Kartik Aaryan Reveals Reaching Award Show Venues In Autorickshaws: 'I Had No Cars'
Kartik Aaryan recalled his struggling days and how he used to reach the award shows venue on an autorickshaw.

Kartik Aaryan reminisced about the humble beginnings of his acting career, highlighting his initial days when he drove a car with a malfunctioning door, underscoring his aspirations to own a collection of luxurious cars one day. His journey in the film industry began in 2011 with “Pyaar Ka Punchnama,” but it wasn’t until 2018’s “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” that he experienced significant success.

In a candid conversation on the season finale of Neha Dhupia’s “No Filter Neha Season 6,” Kartik opened up about his early struggles, including attending award shows in an autorickshaw due to not owning a car. Reflecting on this period, he shared, “Before Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, there was a lull period where people didn’t know who I was. They didn’t know that I existed. Like, I didn’t have a car to go to award functions. It used to feel like… yaar, I am taking a rickshaw. It was like this for the first 3-4 films.”

Kartik described the moment he was able to afford a car, albeit a third-hand one with a driver’s side door that wouldn’t open. This led to humorous situations at valet services, where he had to climb over to the passenger seat to exit the vehicle. He shared these memories with laughter, illustrating his determination and humor amidst adversity, “Then I bought a third hand car, but the door of the driver’s side of that car was jammed, it wouldn’t open. I would drive that car. Now, the funniest thing used to be that when there was a valet, I would ask him to open the door of the passenger side, I would jump on the other seat and get out of the car, and then I would jump back in the same way,” he recalled.

“I knew that I wanted to concentrate on that one film,”

he noted. His passion for cars stems from these early experiences, leading him to dream about creating a vast garage. “That is why I am fond of cars. That is why I buy so many cars. At one point, I had no vehicles so my mission was to buy all the cars. I thought I will make a garage which will have all the cars,” he added cheerfully.

Today, Kartik’s dream has materialized with the acquisition of a Range Rover SV valued at Rs 6 crore, alongside a prestigious collection including a McLaren GT, Mini Cooper, BMW 5 Series, and a Lamborghini Urus Capsule, marking a significant upgrade from his first vehicle.

On the professional front, Kartik’s latest project was ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha,’ sharing the screen with Kiara Advani. He is eagerly anticipated in ‘Chandu Champion’ and will also feature with Tripti Dimri in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa,’ continuing his ascendancy in Bollywood.
