Karan Johar Talks About Being 'Hurt' In Cryptic Note: 'Remove Expectations From People And...'
Interestingly, this comes a month after Karan Johar opened up about his relationship status and shared that he’s been single for a very long time now and is not looking for a partner anymore.

Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories on Friday night and shared a cryptic note which talked about ‘expectations from people’ and being ‘hurt’. “Remove expectations from people and you’ll remove their power to hurt your feelings,” the note read. Even though KJo did not write anything in the caption, the post has left netizens wondering if everyone is well with the director.

Interestingly, this comes a month after Karan Johar opened up about his relationship status and shared that he’s been single for a very long time now and is not looking for a partner anymore. KJo was talking to Faye D’souza when he mentioned that he has been in “one and a half relationships” in his entire life and while he was actively seeking companionship in his 40s, he stopped looking for it after turning 50.

“I am single and haven’t been in a relationship for a very long time. In fact, I have been in one and a half relationships in my entire life. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy my single status. I don’t think I can change it now. Forget sharing a bathroom or bedroom or your space or schedule, I think the power of your day is with you. Your responsibility is to your children and your mom, that’s about it,” Karan said.

“I did feel the vacuum when I turned 40, but when I turned 50, I felt like I didn’t want it. I am not blocking it, but now I don’t see it happening actively. I have gone through agencies, blind date situations, and met people in the country, and out of the country, now if I find it well and good, I don’t feel the need for it at all,” he added.

Johar, who is currently in Melbourne to attend the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, often shares cryptic notes on his Instagram handle. Last year too, the filmmaker addressed an ‘exhausted human being’ in a cryptic open letter who wants to pay compliments to someone. “Dear exhausted human being… A warning! Each time you compliment someone starting with SO….. You will be expected to end with a WOW,” he wrote.

“This is dangerous and can have repercussions in the future. So please alter your verbal compliments. Love, a disgruntled trend wannabe,” he concluded. However, it was unclear if Johar was addressing the letter to his fans or was it aimed at someone.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar returned to the director’s chair in 2023 after a seven-year break with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. His Dharma Productions recently co-produced Kill, which stars Lakshay and Raghav Juyal in the lead.
