Kangana Ranaut Calls Herself 'Mandi Ki Sansad', Hugs Her Mother After Winning Lok Sabha Elections
Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi.

Days after winning the Lok Sabha elections from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency, Kangana Ranaut is now on her way to Delhi. On Thursday afternoon, the actress-turned-politician took to her Instagram stories and shared some pictures in which she was seen bidding adieu to her family members in Mandi. In one of the photos, the actress was seen sharing a warm hug with her mother. Another photo featured Kangana taking a selfie inside a car.

“On my way to the parliament,” Kangana Ranaut wrote as she also called herself “Mandi ki sansad”. Check out her Instagram stories here:

On June 4, Kangana Ranaut defeated her closest rival Vikramaditya Singh of Congress by a margin of over 74,000 votes to win Mandi. After her victory, the actress also shared an Instagram post thanking the people from her constituency. “Heartfelt gratitude to all the people of Mandi for this love and trust… This victory belongs to all of you, this is the victory of your trust in Prime Minister Modi and BJP, this is the victory of Sanatan and in the honour of Mandi,” she wrote.

Recently, Ankita Lokhande congratulated Kangana for her win. The Pavitra Rishta actress took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to share a picture of Kangana and mentioned that she “deserved” this victory. “Heartfelt congratulations, my dearest for this massive win @KanganaTeam ✨ You deserve it and I know you will bring a positive change. Always rooting for you❤️,” Ankita wrote.

On the acting front, Kangana will soon be seen in Emergency. The film is based on the Emergency declared under the Indira Gandhi leadership and she will be seen playing the role of the former Prime Minister. Kangana Ranaut announced Emergency in 2021 and later clarified that even though Emergency is a political drama, it is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. The actress is not just playing the lead in the film but is also directing it. Besides Kangana, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade among others. Emergency was supposed to hit theatres on June 14, 2024, but has now been postponed.

In a viral interview earlier, Kangana had hinted that if she won the Mandi seat, she would fulfil her pending film commitments and then leave the industry to focus on politics full-time.
