Janhvi Kapoor BREAKS Silence On Anil Kapoor's Mr India 2: 'Don't Know If A Film Like That Should Be Remade'
Janhvi Kapoor said that she unsure if a film like Mr India should be made again, but trusts the makers.

Janhvi Kapoor is staying very active in her career these days. Following the positive reception of her performance in Sharan Sharma’s Mr and Mrs Mahi, where she starred opposite Rajkummar Rao, she is now preparing for her upcoming project, Ulajh. Amid this, she was recently asked if she would be a part of the sequel to her uncle Anil Kapoor’s film, Mr India, should one be made.

“Mr India is one of the best films to have come out of Indian cinema. I don’t know if a film like that should ever be remade or touched again. I don’t know what the plans for that are. Again, I think the makers know best. Whoever the director would be, he will know best. Something as pure as that, you can’t enforce things on that,” Janhvi told Pinkvilla.

Not only Janhvi’s uncle, but her dad, Boney Kapoor is an influential figure in Bollywood. How has being the daughter of a big-time producer impacted her filmography? Janhvi said, “Never have I been like, ‘No, I don’t want to do this film’. I trust his judgement, too much. I never reject it. But I have never put that pressure on him to have me in his film. I am his daughter first and an actress speaking to a producer, second. It’s not even in my head. As a daughter, I want him to make decisions that are best for his business model; for his movie. And I only want him to operate in that way, so I haven’t ever been like, ‘Please take me (in your film)'”.

Meanwhile, Janhvi is prepping for the release of Ulajh. In this thrilling narrative, Janhvi Kapoor portrays Suhana, a young diplomat embroiled in a treacherous personal conspiracy during her crucial assignment at the London embassy. As she navigates the complexities of her career-defining role, she finds herself entangled in the weight of her legacy and in a web of deception, where every ally could be a foe.

Audiences can expect heart-stopping moments and edge-of-your-seat drama as Ulajh unfolds its gripping tale of traps, conspiracies, and betrayals. With its captivating storyline and stellar performances, the film promises to be a cinematic experience like no other.

Her upcoming film Ulajh, directed by Sudhanshu Saria, features an impressive cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain, Rajendra Gupta, Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, and Jitendra Joshi in key roles. The thriller is set to hit theatres on August 2, 2024, produced by Vineet Jain and co-produced by Amrita Pandey. Ulajh is all set to release on August 2, 2024.
