A fan wrote, “Aw I loved that he was holding Rocket. RIP Chadwick,” while another said, “Chadwick’s role as black panther was immaculate. He was such a great talent!”

“People will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel. He was a class act and will remember working with him forever,” a comment read.

Meanwhile, James Gunn was not the only one to remember the late actor. Boseman’s co-star Lupita Nyong’o, who famously played Nakia in the Black Panther films, also paid her tribute on Instagram. “Grief never ends. But it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith. It’s the price of love.” -unknown. Remembering Chadwick Boseman. Forever,” she wrote.

While Chadwick Boseman’s legacy as Black Panther continues to live on, makers also decided not to recast his iconic character. They instead gave him an emotional farewell by showing T’Challa’s on-screen death in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. For those unaware, Boseman made his brief appearance in Captain America: Civil War before starring in 2018’s Black Panther. His character was also seen in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

After battling colon cancer for years, the actor passed away in August 2020 at the age of 43. His illness was not known publicly until his death. The news sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and celebrities alike. Meanwhile, it is yet to be known if the makers have a third Black Panther film in the works.
