Companion stars Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid in lead roles.

The teaser for the highly anticipated thriller Companion has just arrived, and it promises an electrifying, spine-tingling experience for viewers. Featuring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid in lead roles, the teaser kicks off with a seemingly light-hearted vibe, proclaiming, “New Line Cinema — the studio that brought you The Notebook — and the creators of Barbarian invite you to a new kind of love story.” This intriguing introduction sets the stage for a seemingly romantic tale, but as the teaser unfolds, it swiftly descends into darkness, hinting at the gripping twists that await.

The scene starts with Quaid and Thatcher enjoying what looks like an intimate dinner date. However, as the camera pans out, the unsettling reality is revealed — Thatcher’s character is seen handcuffed to her chair. Instead of a romantic encounter, she is a prisoner in Quaid’s home, who is possibly a psychopath captor. The teaser hints at Thatcher’s struggle for survival as she tries to escape but finds herself pulled deeper into a terrifying situation.

In a voiceover, Thatcher’s character ironically describes the moment they met, saying, “I know it’s gonna sound cheesy, but the moment we locked eyes, there was just a spark,” while the visuals show increasingly violent and distressing scenes.

The tension mounts as the teaser ends with Quaid pushing a candle under her hand, and her eyes fill with fear as the flame burns her. This horrifying image leaves viewers with a sense of dread, eagerly waiting to see what this twisted thriller has in store.

The official handle of Warner Bros, sharing the teaser trailer on Instagram, wrote, “You are cordially invited to experience a new kind of love story. #CompanionMovie – only in theaters January 10.”

The promotional post teased fans with more than just the chilling trailer, it also included a mysterious phone number, stating, “Text 978-878-5683 to Find Your Companion today.”
