Inspector Rishi Becomes Most-viewed Tamil Series On Amazon Prime

With every passing month, content is finding audiences through OTT platforms, instead of theatres. Be it web series or films, OTT platforms have left users spoilt for choice with their interesting content. It has also paved the way for small-time actors, A-listers and even theatre actors to come together and deliver an amazing performance. One of the popular genres of OTT is thriller. If, you are one such person who gets a good kick out of horror and thrilling elements, Tamil horror, Inspector Rishi should be on your watchlist.

Inspector Rishi is a horror thriller web series that was released on March 29 this year. It is written and directed by JS Nandhini for Amazon Prime Video. The web series features Naveen Chandra, Sunaina Yella, Kanna Ravi, Kumaravel, Meesha Ghoshal, Semmalar Annam, Gajaraj and others.

The horror-thriller was made in Tamil and released in Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam. The series has 10 episodes. It revolves around Inspector Rishi, played by Naveen Chandra and Sunaina as Kathryn “Kathy” Shobana. A series of murders take place in a forest near Coimbatore. The locals believe that Vanarachi, an invisible power, is behind these murders. Inspector Rishi gets assigned to the case to investigate these murders. The Forest Department also offers support to the police team. At the same time, Inspector Rishi has to also juggle his personal life, loss of vision in one eye and the failure to save his girlfriend.

Inspector Rishi became the most-viewed Tamil series which won the hearts of the audience. The makers announced the same on X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, “There’s no mystery here, Inspector. We have a hit on our hands!”

News18 reviewed the film which read, “The series plays out like a slow-burner getting us impatient at times, but the screenplay (although I could not see why it should not have been shorter) does effectively create an eerie atmosphere. And the jungle setting bathed in mist and mystery sends shivers down our spines.”
