There have been several discussions and heated debates about the most deserving films in 2014. The past year saw an interesting blend of films that won commercial success and critical acclaim. So while the big films got bigger, several offbeat projects also found several takers. In the second edition of IBNLive Movie Awards, we select nominees in various popular categories and allow our readers to decide the outcome. Take our poll to vote and choose your favourite performers of 2014.
These are the nominees in the best costume category:
Dolly Ahluwalia for 'Haider': Costume designer Dolly Ahluwalia very closely worked with director Vishal Bhardwaj, while he was doing a recce in the valley of Kashmir. It was there that she shared her creative vision with him. Instead of picking the Kashmiri costumes from the market, she designed phirans for Shahid Kapoor, hijabs and head scarves for both Shraddha Kapoor and Tabu. Dolly had to really challenge herself to understand the psyche of the character.
Karuna Laungani, Uma Biju and Raghavendra Rathore for Khoobsurat: Karuna Laungani designed costumes for Sonam Kapoor and Raghavendra Rathore styled Fawad Khan in 'Khoobsurat'. As always, Sonam's outfits were outstanding but it was also Fawad Khan, who blew his style quotient sky high by looking as dapper as he could in classy Bandhgalas and tuxedos.
Nikita Raheja for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania: Alia Bhatt looked absolutely stunning in 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' , thanks to Manish Malhotra and costume designer Nikita Raheja. From patialas to lehengas, Alia rocked all the looks.
Payal Saluja for Dedh Ishqiya: The costume drama was brilliantly showcased on screen, thanks to costume designer Payal Saluja. All the outfits of Madhuri and Huma were picked by her and she did a commendable job.
