Jaideep Ahlawat is currently garnering love for his role in the recently released film Maharaj. The actor underwent a commendable transformation for playing a godman, Jadunathji Brijratanji Maharaj, in the film. How do we know? In his latest Instagram post, the actor shared pictures of his impressive physical transformation. The images were attached to a note in which he reflected on his impressive journey to shed 26 kg within 5 months.
The carousel comprised three snapshots with each showcasing Jaideep Ahlawat’s before and after photos. The Jaane Jaan actor’s dedication to his art is visible in the pictures. Reflecting on his journey, the actor said, “From 109.7 Kg. to 83 Kg. in 5 months. That’s the Physical Transformation for the Role of Maharaj. Thank you Prajwal Sir for believing in me @prajwal7542.”
Reacting to his post, Aditi Rao Hydari’s beau and popular actor Siddharth wrote, “Amazing bhai.” Richa Chadha also joined him to praise Jaideep Ahlawat and commented, “Badiya.” Additionally, Bakhtiyaar Irani, 1920 fame Rajniesh Duggal and Neil Nitin Mukesh also hailed the actor’s impressive fitness regime.

Meanwhile, Maharaj premiered on Netflix on June 21. Upon its release, the film opened to mixed reviews. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, the film portrays a legal battle, inspired by the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case. FYI, the case is called ‘the greatest trial of modern times since the trial of Warren Hastings’.

The historical drama also marks the Bollywood debut of Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. His portrayal of journalist and social reformer Karsandas Mulji has prompted the audience to shower him with appreciation.
News 18, in its review of the film, wrote, “Jaideep Ahlawat never ceases to surprise. You’d be intimated by him. He delivers his part with so much intensity and authenticity. He is simply terrific, as he does not let a single false note creep into his character. He brings in the fear, the menace, and the raw emotion that the role demands.”
