Fardeen Khan made a comeback in Bollywood after a long years. He was seen in a web series Heeramandi directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor recently opened up about the difficult phase he faced dealing with trolls. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Fardeen Khan recalled how he tackled it and also called it a ‘challenging time’.
Talking to the entertainment portal, Fardeen Khan said, “It was a revelation of sorts. It was like, ‘wow it can go to this extent’. Of course, it was tough. It was a challenging time. But, you know, this business teaches you to have thick skin. You have to, sometimes take a few knocks on the chin. Then again, you got to question how much importance you give everyone’s opinion to feel validated yourself. I mean, was I surprised? I wasn’t. I had cut off from the industry for many, many years before that. So, I mean, even the fact that I received that kind of attention in itself, surprised me.”
Fardeen Khan’s performance in the series was praised. Fans loved his comeback and was seen showering him with loads of compliments.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Fardeen reveals how he serendipitously caught the attention of the casting director of the series while attending an event. “I was spotted at an award function by Shruti Mahajan, who has closely worked with Mr Bhansali over the years. I don’t know whether she was there or she saw me on television, but she thought that I would suit the character of Wali,” he recalls.
So, what happened next? “She called me when I got back from Abu Dhabi. She told me that she would want me to meet Mr Bhansali and his team. And since I was away from the movies for so long, they just wanted to see if I really suited the part,” says Fardeen.
Well, apart from this Fardeen Khan is gearing up for his next film Khel Khel Mein. The film stars Akshay Kumar Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal in pivotal roles. It is all set to release on August 15.
