Divya Bharti Touches Dharmendra's Feet in RARE Video, Shah Rukh Khan's Reaction Goes Viral; Watch

Divya Bharti was Shah Rukh Khan’s first co-star on the big screen. The actors were seen in Deewana (1992) followed by Hema Malini directed Dil Aashna Hai which released in the same year. Their chemistry was adored by many. Although it has been over three decades since the films released (and Divya’s unfortunate death), fans revisit SRK and Divya’s on camera moments. Recently, fans revisited an event hosted by Hema Malini and Dharmendra for Dil Aashna Hai.

Shah Rukh and Divya joined Dharmendra and Hema at the event. In the video, Shah Rukh arrived on stage first and was honoured with a bouquet. He stood in between Hema and Dharmendra for a picture. However, when Bharti arrived, Shah Rukh quickly moved aside and let her take the spotlight. He also made way for her to comfortably stand and pose with the makers. Watch the video below:

Fans took to the thread and remembered Divya. “Miss this lady so much! How beautiful is she,” a fan said. “Miss you Divya Bharti,” added another.

Divya made her acting debut in 1990, at the age of 15. She starred in the Tamil film Nila Pennae. She then spent a year in Telugu film industry before entering Bollywood in 1992 with Vishwatma. Divya became a household name and went on to sign several films back to back. At the age of 19, she also tied the knot. She married director-producer Sajid Nadiadwala in 1992.

However, Divya died in 1993, at the age of 19. Her death rocked the nation. She died on April 5, 1993, she fell from the balcony window of her fifth-floor apartment in Mumbai. She was rushed to the hospital but died. Her death paved the way to several conspiracy theories.

At the time of her death, Divya had 12 movies in her hand. These include Laadla (which eventually landed in Sridevi’s kitty), Mohra, Dilwale (Raveena Tandon replaced her) and Hulchul (Kajol replaced Divya).
