The film ‘Crew,’ featuring Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and a special appearance by Kapil Sharma, has been delighting audiences in theaters for two weeks. Among the cast, Trupti Khamkar, who portrays a police officer, recently opened up about her enriching experience on set, particularly about working alongside numerous celebrities. A highlight for her was sharing scenes with Diljit, whose spiritual demeanor left a lasting impression on her.
In an interaction with The Free Press Journal, Trupti expressed her admiration for Diljit, describing him as a devout follower of Lord Shiva who often recites “Om Namah Shivay.” She enthused about her desire to collaborate with him again, praising his humble and godly nature. “I would definitely like to work with Diljit again. He is the most God-like person I’ve ever met. He comes with the most amount of humility. He is a Shiv bhakt and he constantly chants Om Namah Shivay. When you are around him, you feel like you are in a temple, near God. He is very spiritual.” she explained, underscoring his spirituality and humility.
Trupti further elaborated on her aspirations to emulate Diljit’s qualities, not just his professional skills but also his personal virtues. “Diljit is, of course, an amazing actor, and he is never not there. Even in between scenes, he looks into your eyes. I want to be like him. If I become only 10 per cent of what he is, mujhe lagega maine duniya jeet li hai (I’ll fell like I have done something). He is ‘Dil-Jeet’ in a real sense,” she remarked, playing on his name to suggest that he wins hearts in the truest sense.
Additionally, during the production, director Rajesh A Krishnan made a surprising comment to Trupti, suggesting her role was even more significant than Diljit’s, which she initially dismissed as flattery. However, upon viewing the completed film, she was stunned to realize the truth in his words, as Diljit’s part turned out to be a cameo, underscoring her pivotal role in the narrative.
‘Crew’ emerges as a compelling heist comedy, enriched by the dynamic performances and the unique chemistry among the cast, showcasing the blend of humor and drama through its storytelling. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu, Crew revolves around the lives of three air-hostesses stumbling upon a dead passenger smuggling gold biscuits and what happens when they decide to steal the gold amid the backdrop of their airlines Kohinoor facing bankruptcy.
