Ahead of its theatrical release, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine has created a lot of hype among fans. While the trailers and teasers have done their job, set photo leaks, online spoilers and unseen footage from screenings add to the ever-growing anticipation. However, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is not really worried about the spoilers circulating online. In an interview with Variety, Feige admitted that Deadpool & Wolverine’s outdoor shoots were risky, considering the meddling paparazzi. However, it was worth the risk.

Mentioning that he was aware of the media presence, Feige recalled that they still decided to move forward with exterior shoots instead of just sticking to the green screens.
“That was very important to us. We didn’t want this to be a green screen box for all of the locations. We want it to be out in the real world, and that always comes with potential tradeoffs. We were in a lot of secure locations and places that were far away from prying eyes, with the exception of drones. It was a new experience for me to have paparazzi drones flying over the set. Sometimes things look cool in a behind-the-scenes photo, but most often, they don’t look great. I think people have become savvy enough over the years to know that’s not what it will look like in the movie,” he said.
Obsessed with the costume designs for the Deadpool & Wolverine suits and how as the movie continues, they get more and more ripped and dirtied. I miss when CBMs did this and I’m glad it’s returning with this movie. pic.twitter.com/4sDaDGx8fs— DrTreFilms (@Trigety) June 30, 2024
Feige also spoke about the Wolverine’s comic-accurate costume, stating it looks “cool” from all angles. The remarks come at a time when Deadpool & Wolverine has finally managed to crack the impossible by bringing back the iconic yellow-and-blue Wolverine suit.
Deadpool 3 Set To Reignite The MCU?
In what is being seen as much bigger than just a superhero film, Deadpool & Wolverine can come as a big turning point for the MCU. With the unexpected return of Hugh Jackman’s Logan, aka Wolverine, to his teaming up with Reynolds’ Deadpool, the film can also influence the whole Marvel multiverse and even future MCU projects in various ways.
In this film, Wade Wilson (Reynolds) is living a normal life only to be pulled back into action by the Time Variance Authority with a “chance to be a hero among heroes.” Here comes the adamantium-claw Wolverine, who seems reluctant to suit up once again. Despite the ‘love-and-hate’ relationship, the two eventually team up to save the multiverse.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be released on July 26.
