Dance Karnataka Dance: Artists, Recreating Shiva Rajkumar's Om, Set The Stage On Fire

Dance Karnataka Dance has commenced on July 20 onwards at 7:30 PM, with episodes scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays. Recently, a promo of this show went viral on social media with the artists recreating the Shivarajkumar-starrer, Om. Zee Kannada unveiled the promo on social media. The promo shows a glimpse of the artist Kanthi starting his acting by smoking a cigarette which evokes appreciation from Shivarajkumar. The artist plays Satya’s character, enacted by Shivarajkumar from the film Om. The act then proceeds with the artist confessing his love for the female lead Sony Mulewa and their dance performances. Sony portrayed Madhuri’s character enacted by Prema in Om. Shivarajkumar and Prema lauded their performances. This clip has garnered more than 2 million views and counting.

Social media users appreciated Kanthi and Sony’s dancing prowess. Others lauded that both the artists were equally good with their dancing and acting skills. Rest dropped heart emoticons in the comment section.

Shivarajkumar is part of the judging panel for this show. This panel also includes the actress Rakshitha Prem, and choreographer Chinni Prakash, also known as Chinni Master. Actor Vijay Raghavendra is also one of the judges. Rakshitha is known for her judgment stint on the show Comedy Khiladigalu and many other dance shows as well. On the other hand, Vijay Raghavendra has also hosted multiple dance shows and the Drama Juniors show. He has made a comeback on the reality shows with the Dance Karnataka Dance. Amongst the judges, Shivarajkumar has been part of the 6th and the 7th instalment of the show as well. Anushree is the host of the Dance Karnataka Dance.

Nitin and Dimple were the winners of the show’s 7th instalment. They won a cash prize of Rs 4 lakh and a BMRDA (Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority)-approved site worth Rs 21 lakh. The special guest of the event was Prabhu Deva who danced to a few songs, i.e.- Tiger and Naatu Naatu with judge-actor Shiva Rajkumar.

According to the Dance Karnataka Dance show’s format, dance enthusiasts under the age of 60 years and well-versed in all forms of dance are eligible for selection.
