Chris Hemsworth Cracks ‘Dad Joke’ With Anya Taylor-Joy At Cannes; Missed It?

Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth had a friendly banter on the first day of the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The mega event kickstarted in the South of France on May 14, witnessed the arrival of the who’s who of Hollywood. Among the esteemed guests, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth were in attendance for the world premiere of their upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The two have joined forces for the first time in this George Miller directorial. Now, a video dropped by Chris Hemsworth on Instagram offered fans a glimpse of the cordial equation he shares with his co-star.

Anya Taylor-Joy can be seen recording the video while sharing the same frame with Chris Hemsworth. The Thor actor greets viewers with an excited “Hi". The actress reciprocates a similar sentiment. Hemsworth displays his comical side in the clip, delivering a hilarious pun-intended Cannes joke. His jest also had a direct reference to Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’s premiere. “We are at Cannes and we ‘canne’not wait for the premiere," he says, making Taylor-Joy laugh. “I love it," she admits. “Throwin’ dad jokes left and right at Cannes Film Festival," captioned Hemsworth.

Anya Taylor-Joy was a sight to behold on the Cannes red carpet. She was dressed in a strapless white semi-sheer dress, adorned with flower embroidery. The side slit added the risque element. Chris Hemsworth wore a pin-striped blue blazer, matching trousers and a white shirt underneath.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is the fifth installment of the popular Mad Max franchise. It serves as a prequel to the 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road. The movie will take movie buffs on Furiosa’s (Anya Taylor-Joy) origin story. Also starring Charlee Fraser, Lachy Hulme, Tom Burke, and Nathan Jones, the action-adventure will be released in the theatres on May 24.
