The fact that Bikas Ranjan Mishra’s ‘Chauranga’ has been screened at important film festivals and even bagged the most prestigious awards, the viewers needn’t be convinced about its impact.
Set in the Chhota Nagpur region of Jhardkhand, ‘Chauranga’ revolves around the story of a 14-year-old boy who falls for a 16-year-old from an upper caste. But it is the manner in which it deals with caste and sexual oppression that makes ‘Chauranga’ one of the most hard-hitting real tales.
'Chauranga', which features Tannishtha Chatterjee, Ayushmann Jha in key roles, has been produced Onir and Sanjay.
