Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities today paid tributes to ace journalist Vinod Mehta, calling his demise as the loss of 'rational thought'.
The founder-Editor of 'Outlook' magazine breathed his last at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi where he was admitted. He died of multiple organ failure. Mehta was 73.
Farhan Akhtar posted on Twitter, "A voice from the school of rational thought has been lost today. Vinod Mehta. RIP."
Anupam Kher, who met him in Mumbai, said, "Vinod Mehta was one of the few editors I met in my early days in Mumbai. He was generous and direct. Will miss him and his straight forwardness."
"RIP VINOD MEHTA - TV News debates won't be the same with out you sir," Riteish Deshmukh posted.
Music composer Vishal Dadlani said his death is a loss to the 'world of journalism'.
"Saddened to hear about Vinod Mehta's death. Massive loss to the world of journalism, and to the nation. RIP," he wrote.
Echoing the same sentiment, Goldie Behl tweeted, "Rip Vinod Mehta feels like an end of an era in Indian journalism."
Dia Mirza wrote, "@TheHindu: Founder editor-in-chief and editorial chairman of Outlook, Vinod Mehta passes away. #RIP #Respect."
