A newly dropped trailer of the romantic drama It Ends With Us has set the stage for an emotional rollercoaster. The highly-anticipated film boasts a stellar cast including Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Amy Morton and Brandon Sklenar. Adapted from Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel of the same name, the film promises to take audiences on a powerful and emotional journey with a compelling story of love. The film is scheduled to release on August 9.
It Ends With Us revolves around a poignant story of Lily Bloom, portrayed by Blake, who emerges from a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of starting her own business. The film’s one-minute-long trailer introduces viewers to Lily’s first meeting with a charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, played by the director Baldoni himself. Set against a nighttime rooftop backdrop, Ryle asks for Lily’s name. As the trailer continues, we see them develop an immediate and intense connection. As their relationship deepens, Lily begins to see troubling parallels between Ryle and the turbulent relationship of her parents. The narrative takes a dramatic turn when Atlas Corrigan (played by Brandon Sklenar), unexpectedly reappears, creating a rift in her relationship with Ryle. Lily finds herself torn between the two men in a gripping standoff and realises that she has to rely on her inner strength to make an impossible choice for her future.

In an interview to People, Hoover, who also serves as an executive producer on It Ends With Us, highlighted the collective effort of the team behind the film’s adaptation.
“Everyone involved has been so dedicated to making this adaptation as faithful and heartfelt as possible. It’s been a true team effort, and I can’t wait for those who loved the book to see the movie and experience the magic they’ve created on the big screen,” she said.
Hoover also commended Blake for her exceptional performance in the film, stating, “There aren’t enough words to describe her phenomenal talent. Blake Lively truly brought Lily Bloom to life in a way that exceeded all my expectations.”
She went on to highlight that Blake added a “depth and complexity” to Lily’s character which she didn’t even anticipate.
