On the occasion of Eid, celebrities took to social media to congratulate and send good wishes to their fans. Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui also had a perfect Eid for all his loyal fans on Thursday. The stand-up comedian is all set to level up his career this year. Munawar Faruqui took to his social media page to announce his acting debut in a web series titled First Copy. He also unveiled the official teaser of the series which left fans excited and thrilled.
The one-minute, forty-three-second teaser takes us back to 1999 when DVDs were a big trend. While films are released on Fridays, many eagerly secure a “first copy” of the film on DVD on Thursdays before the official release. Munawar Faruqui impresses in the teaser where he portrays a grey character from the world of piracy. He shared the teaser and captioned it “Eid Mubarak.”

As soon as the teaser was released by First Copy, it went viral. The First Copy teaser received a positive response from netizens. Not only fans but also celebrities flooded the comments section praising Munawar’s acting skills and congratulating him on his new project.
Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui said about First Copy, “Over the years, my fans have always stood by me and supported me in everything I have done. So, this year, I wanted to give them a special gift by announcing this project where they will get to see a new side of me. I am excited to see how people will react to it.”
The web series First Copy, featuring Munawar Faruqui in a lead role, is written and directed by Farhan P Zamma. The series is produced by Kurji Productions and co-produced by Salt Media. The release date and OTT platform of the show are yet to be announced.
In April 2020, Munawar Faruqui uploaded a standup comedy video titled Dawood, Yamraaj & Aurat on his YouTube channel. In August 2020, he released his first song Jawab in collaboration with Indian musician Spectra. On 28 February 2021, he uploaded a standup comedy video named Ghost Story on his YouTube channel. In 2022, he participated in Balaji Telefilms’ reality TV show Lock Upp hosted by Kangana Ranaut. On 8 May 2022, Munawar stood as the winner of the show. The show aired on OTT platforms ALTBalaji and MX Player. In 2023, he became a contestant in the reality TV show Bigg Boss 17 hosted by Salman Khan. On January 28, 2024, he was declared the winner of the show.
