The eagerly awaited Dragon Ball Daima has officially set its premiere date for this Fall. As part of the 40th anniversary celebration of Akira Toriyama’s iconic manga, this new series promises to bring exciting new adventures for Goku, including an unprecedented new form of the beloved character. While details about the series remain shrouded in mystery, fans can look forward to the long-anticipated premiere in Japan, which is just around the corner.
According to a report by Mantan Web, Fuji Television has confirmed that Dragon Ball Daima will begin airing in Japan on Friday, October 11th, at 11:40 PM JST. This release will reportedly coincide with the launch of a new late-night programming block. Notably, the first episode of the series will be extended by an additional ten minutes.
However, details on the anime’s international release and streaming platforms remain under wraps as of now. Nevertheless, Dragon Ball fans now have a solid date to look forward to in the Fall 2024 anime season.
Dragon Ball Daima is set to debut in Japan on October 11th, though its global release plans and platforms are yet to be disclosed. The late Akira Toriyama, who originally created Dragon Ball, played a significant role in developing the main story and character designs for this new series. The anime is directed by Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki for Toei Animation, with Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru adapting Toriyama’s designs for the screen. Yuuko Kakihara is overseeing and writing the scripts, reports Comicbook.
One exciting piece of news for fans is the return of Masako Nozawa, who will once again lend her voice to Goku. So far, she is the only confirmed voice actor for Dragon Ball Daima and there’s no word yet on an English dub release. Before his passing, Akira Toriyama teased the storyline for Dragon Ball Daima saying, “Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. In order to fix things, they’ll head off to a new world! It’s a grand adventure with intense action in an unknown and mysterious world. Since Goku has to make up for his petite size, he uses his Power Pole to fight, something not seen in a long time.”
