Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2 is one of the highly anticipated films of the year. Fans have been eagerly waiting for its release. Makers have announced that the action drama will be released on August 15, 2024. However, now a report is coming that the film release has been postponed. Yes, you are reading right. Pinkvilla in its exclusive report has mentioned that the release has been delayed and now makers are targeting a December release. Well, nothing official has been made till now.
Pinkvilla has quoted sources saying that Pushpa 2 is no longer releasing on August 15, 2024. “The discussions about delay in Pushpa have been going on for a while now, as the makers were always racing against time to finish the shoot and lock their edit for Independence Day 2024 weekend. It’s yesterday that they finally decided to delay the release date and an official announcement on the new date is expected to be made in a day or two,” revealed a source. The film’s release has been pushed due to a delay in the shooting schedule.
“Pushpa 2 team is considering several date options – which include Dussehra 2024, December 2024, and Pongal 2025. However, the way things are moving, it seems that Pushpa 2 will arrive in the month of December,” the source added.
Earlier this year, the makers of Pushpa 2 released the teaser of the film on Allu Arjun’s birthday. In the teaser, Allu Arjun was seen dressed in a saree with his face painted in shades of blue and red. He also sported makeup with heavy traditional gold and flower jewellery. He was seen beating up goons.
Later, Rashmika also talked about the much-awaited film when she promised that it would be “bigger” than ever. “I can promise you that Pushpa 2 is going to be so much bigger. We gave some madness in the first film, in part 2, we know we have a responsibility because people have so much expectation from the film. We are constantly and consciously trying to deliver that,” she told Pinkvilla.
While everyone is excited to watch Pushpa 2 in theatres, there is no doubt that the film will surely rule box office. Recently, Pinkvilla reported that the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 have been acquired by Anil Thadani on an advance basis for Rs 200 crore. Prior to this, another report by Siasat claimed the makers are reportedly demanding a staggering Rs 1,000 crores or more for the theatrical rights deal for all languages. The report further suggested the film is expected to outperform SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which grossed a whopping Rs 900 crores in theatrical rights. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this as of now.
