Fans are in for a treat as Akshay Kumar will star in two comedy films releasing on August 15. He leads the urban comedy Khel Khel Mein alongside Taapsee Pannu and Vaani Kapoor and makes a surprise appearance in the horror comedy Stree 2. A source close HT City has exclusively revealed this exciting double role. “Yes it’s true. Akshay has a cameo in the Rajkummar Rao- Shraddha Kapoor starrer. The makers felt his comedy timing is impeccable, and his presence even for a few minutes will elevate that particular sequence,” the source revealed.
Shraddha Kapoor’s 2018 horror-comedy Stree was a hit, leading to the creation of its sequel, Stree 2. The teaser of the sequel is now out, featuring the original cast: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana. Tamannaah Bhatia was also seen in the teaser. And according to reports, Varun Dhawan has also joined for a special cameo and has completed filming.
The teaser of the film starts with Tamannaah dancing, followed by a brief moment of her looking utterly shocked. Rajkummar returns as the lovable Vicky, while Shraddha sends chills down the spine with her dynamic avatar. It promises a return to the spooky yet hilarious world where the legendary Stree continues to terrify men. Get ready to celebrate Independence Day with a double dose of chills and laughter! Stree 2 is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2024.
After much delay, Stree 2 finally went on floors last year in July in Chanderi, a town in Madhya Pradesh where the first instalment of the horror-comedy franchise was also set. The shoot of the film starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee is currently underway.
