Ace director Koratala Siva is set to return with the highly anticipated film Devara in theatres worldwide on September 27. It stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film has been in the making for four years. Koratala Siva describes Devara as a large scale that has more commercial appeal in comparison to his debut film Mirchi in 2013. The music of the film is given by Anirudh Ravichander. After several delays, the release date of the film was finally announced earlier this year in April. For the success of the film, Koratala Siva recently visited Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He participated in Swami’s seva during VIP’s initial break darshan. The officials of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams welcomed the director and made arrangements for his visit. He wished for the success of the film. After the darshan, the priests of the temple blessed him in Ranganayakula Mandapam and handed over Theertha Prasadam of Swami to Koratala Siva.
While talking to the reporters, Koratala Siva said that it’s a habit for him to visit Tirumala before each release of his film. “I wish this film becomes a huge success with Lord Venkateshwara Swamy’s blessings,” he said. When asked about upcoming projects other than Devara, he said that he would talk about it after Devara’s release. On the assumptions of the pre-release event of the film in Tirumala, Koratala Siva clarified that it will be organised in Hyderabad only.
His last directorial Acharya was a major failure at the box office. It starred Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan in the lead roles. It was released in 2022. The censor board had given the film Devara UA certificate and the final approved runtime of 2 hours 58 minutes (178 minutes). Fans may assume the run time to be challenging but filmmakers exude confidence that the runtime will not be a problem given the engaging narrative and NTR’s spell bounding performance.
Koratala Siva is not only the one who is nervous about the film, but Jr NTR also feels the same. At the trailer launch of Devara in Mumbai, the actor admitted that he is quite nervous as it is his return to solo lead film after six years.
