Watch: EXO's Baekhyun Sings National Anthem At 2024 MLB World Tour Opening Ceremony

Baekhyun, the multitalented singer-actor from EXO, took centre stage at the 2024 MLB World Tour: Seoul Series, delivering a remarkable performance. Marking the opening of Major League Baseball (MLB), Baekhyun showcased his talent by singing both the national anthems of the United States and South Korea. A video shared by MLB’s official X handle shows the singer standing solo on the MLB Opening Game stage at the event and putting his remarkable singing skills on display.

The opening ceremony was held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. While Baekhyun truly captivated the audience at the ceremony, his performance has also gained praise from fans across social media. The internet seemed quite amazed by his amazing vocals, especially while singing the challenging USA anthem in English.

Video clips of the EXO member’s performance have been widely shared on social media. Fans also took to the comment section of the MLB post. One of them wrote, “They don’t make idols like him anymore and you know what? THEY NEVER WILL.” Another one said, “That was a beautiful rendition!”

“His performances are always so moving and respectful. Baekhyun’s renditions of the national anthems are no exception,” another comment read.

Notably, this is not the first time that Baekhyun has performed national anthems at an event. Earlier, at the National Soccer Tryout match with Peru in 2013 and then at the opening ceremony of the 132nd International Olympic Committee in 2018, the South Korean star was seen singing Korea’s anthem.

In a statement issued a week ago, Baekhyun’s agency, INB100, confirmed his participation in the season opener and stated, “Baekhyun will be participating in the 2024 MLB World Tour: Seoul Series, the season opener of Major League Baseball (MLB), which will be held in Seoul for the first time. Baekhyun will be singing the Korean national anthem and the national anthem of the United States without accompaniment at the game between Los Angeles and the San Diego Padres at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on March 21.”

Baekhyun recently announced his departure from SM Entertainment and established his own agency, INB100. He still remains committed to EXO and will look forward to continuing to participate in group activities with his fellow members. Looking forward, Baekhyun will next perform at this inaugural solo Asia tour this year, with the concert series commencing on March 16 at the KSPO Dome in Seoul.
