HYDERABAD: A petty argument over returning Rs 70 in a snooker parlour led to stabbing of a youngster by another group near Seetaphalmandi on Thursday.According to police, 20-year-old Raju is a fruit vendor from Monda market. on Wednesday night, Raju along with his friends Clinton, Sachin and William, all degree and engineering students of various city colleges, went to the Sun Bright snooker parlour at Tarnaka. Another two persons, an Intermediate student and his friend Bhanu from Tarnaka also came there to play a game of snooker.“Bhanu and his friend had borrowed `70 from the snooker parlour owner Stanford, a few months back. Stanford asked the duo to return the money and they entered into an argument over the issue.Raju and his friend’s intervened and took the side of Stanford,” OU police said.Bhanu and his friend lost cool and attacked the other group leading to injuries to Clinton and Sachin.On Thursday morning, Clinton called Bhanu and his friend to come near Seetaphalmandi to sort out the issue.During the discussion, the Intermediate student pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed Raju twice in the chest, police said.The accused fled from the spot and Raju was rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends. Raju’s condition is said to be stable. A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) registered and a hunt has been launched to nab the accused.
