Youth Congress march turns violent

KOCHI: The Youth Congress march towards Consumerfed office turned violent and police had to use water cannon against the protestors.The activists were demanding the removal of Consumerfed Managing Director, Riji G Nair for allegedly making backdoor appointments in the Consumerfed.According to the police, the agitators pulled down the barricade and pelted stones at the police.Two policemen have been injured. The police used water cannon to disperse the violent mob and the situation was brought under control by noon. There has been no arrests in connection with the incident.
