Woman run over by lorry

HYDERABAD: A woman died and her husband, a station fire officer (SFO), suffered injuries in a road accident at Kothapet while a security guard was knocked down by a truck at Jubilee Hills in another mishap on Wednesday. In the first incident a couple, who were crossing a road were hit by a speeding truck leading to the death of the woman and injuries to her husband.
"The couple Subbaiah and Kanakadurga arrived at the Secunderabad railway station by Narsapur Express on Wednesday morning and reached Kothapet in a bus. They were crossing the road when a lorry hit them killing Kanakadurga instantly. Subbaiah suffered fracture in his leg," Chaitanyapuri police said. Subbaiah, who is shifted to a nearby hospital, is recovering. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene.
