Woman hacks husband, held

BALASORE: A woman was arrested by Nilagiri police for allegedly killing her husband in Gopalpur village on  Thursday.Police said Sitaram Singh (35) and his wife Sukuri Singh (30) had taken handia (rice beer) on the occasion of Raja on Wednesday evening. Later when Sitaram was taking rest, Sukuri hacked him with an axe.While villagers claimed the murder was a fallout of illicit relationship, police suspected it was over a family feud.   Nilagiri police station IIC R N Mohapatra said Sukuri was produced in court which remanded her in judicial custody after rejecting the bail plea.
