The Municipal Corporation Of Delhi files an affidavit in the SC listing residential areas that have been converted into commercial ones.

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi(MCD) filed an affidavit in Supreme Court on Monday on the violations on important roads in the city where offices and commercial establishments are being run in residential areas.

MCD also gave a breakup of 428 roads in the city that includes 229 cases of major violation and 199 incidences of minor violations.

Major violation means more than 50 per cent of the area is being used for commercial purposes whereas minor means that less than 50 per cent of area is being used for the same.

The maximum number of violations have been noted in west zone of the city (81 cases ) which includes areas such as Tilaknagar, Rajouri Garden, Punjabi Bagh and Uttamnagar.
