BANGALORE: Five persons from diverse backgrounds will be felicitated at a programme organised by the Akhila Karnataka Vishwakarma Mahasabha’s (AKVM) to mark Vishwakarma Jayanthi on September 17 at Maharaja’s College Grounds, Mysore, President of the Mahasabha K P Nanjundi said here on Wednesday. Addressing media persons here on Wednesday he said, “Every year web are observing Vishwakarma Jayanthi in different districts across the State. This year, besides the felicitation, the award winners will be presented with golden idol of Vishwakarma worth Rs. 75,000 each.”To mark the day, a procession has also been organised. Poetess Dr Lata Rajashekhar, Sculptor K Dakshina Murthy, Wood Sculptor Sculptor Kamalachar, Scholar Mathoor Krishnamurthy and JC Suvarna from Billava Samaja, DK district, will be felicitated. Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, JD(S) National President HD Devegowda and KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara will take part.
