Vijay gets complaint on mounting garbage

VELLORE: Residents of Sathuvachari complained to Health Minister Dr V S Vijay and demanded that officials concerned clear blocked drains in the area.The Minister was here to inaugurate the free napkin distribution programme in Sathuvachari in Vellore on Sunday. During the programme, residents of Sathuvachari, of Ward 22, Indira Nagar, submitted a petition regarding the garbage piles and blocked drains.Following this, a team led by Corporation Zone 2 officer Kannan and Ward 22 member C K Sivaji visited the area and found that around 8 to 10 houses had placed cement slabs over the drains outside their houses. Officials plan to clear the garbage after clearing the encroachments.
