KOCHI: The UK will look into the possibilities of getting associated with the proposed Kochi Metro Rail project. “British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai Mike Nithavrianakis, who was here on Wednesday, expressed satisfaction on the plan and prospects of the proposed metro. He said that he would hold discussions with UK-based companies in this regard,” said a spokesperson of the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL).  Mike, who is in charge of trade and investment, was in the city in connection with the ‘Emerging Kerala’ event that will be held here in September. “Mike, who visited the KMRL office watched a power point presentation on the proposed metro. After holding discussions with the KMRL officials, he said that there was wide scope for UK-based companies to associate with the project,” the KMRL spokesperson added.Meanwhile, the  Metro Rail related works, including the reconstruction of the North railway overbridge (RoB) and the construction of a new RoB at Salim Rajan Road are progressing fast. The proposed Kochi Metro Rail is expected to get the Centre’s nod soon.
