Ujjain: Several people in Madhya Pradesh have put their lives in danger as they take part in a ritual owning to a superstition. According to a superstition people throw oneself down on the road and let bulls run over them after their wishes and desires are fulfilled.
The life threatening ritual takes place in Ujjain with the priests saying that devotees try to please the deity through such acts.
People say they worship lord Shiva and then they lay down on the road and let bulls run over them. A temple priest says the ritual is being performed for the last several years. He says that this ritual is undertaken for the welfare and happiness of the family members.
Even the administration feels helpless as officials are unable to stop the people.
