New Delhi: The CBI has arrested two persons who allegedly spoke to UP ganster Sundar Bhati over the phone posing as Union Minister of State, Manik Rao Gavit.
CBI sources said that the two, Vinod Kumar and Krishna Kumar, are real estate agents and were arrested from Rohini area of North-West Delhi.
While Krishna Kumar posed as Gavit during their conversation with Bhatti, who was lodged in Bulandshahar jail, Vinod Kumar used to pose as private secretary to the minister.
The duo were in touch with Bhatti who in turn used to help them in their real estate business.
These conversations were aired by a private news channel prompting the Government to institute a CBI inquiry into the case and ascertain the identity of the callers after the agency, with the help of Central Forensic Ssciences Labaratory, gave a clean chit to Gavit.
The CBI would also probe how tapes were handed over to the private news channel.
