THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance Special Court here on Thursday directed the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau team probing the Travancore Titanium Ltd corruption case to submit a final report within four months.Special judge P K Haneefa gave his ruling while dismissing the petition of the VACB seeking a period of six months to complete the probe and file the report.Ordering the VACB to file its final report within June 25, the court also directed to record the statement of Jayan, an employee of the company and plaintiff, on Thursday itself.The case pertains to the alleged corruption in the award of a controversial Rs 256-cr contract to a company for installing pollution control equipment in the TTL during the tenure of the Oommen Chandy Government in 2006. Including Chandy, there are 11 accused in the case.It was during the submission of an investigation progress report in the court recently that the VACB had requested for a six month reprieve to file the final report. 24 witnesses were examined and 99 documents related to the deal had already been scanned, it was averred.
