New Delhi: Three teenagers were chosen to represent the country at the Junior 8 Summit, being held parallel to G 8 in Rome.
The three will highlight the story of their struggle against poverty and social odds.
Sixteen-year-old Sanjukta Pangi from Orissa and 17-year-old Samuel Venkatesan from Tamil Nadu and 19-year-old Narendra from Uttar Pradesh are the three teens among 86 youngsters from across the globe to participate at the seven-day summit
Sanjukta, - chosen by UNICEF to represent India at the J 8 Summit - meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Italy.
"He is a very nice person. He is so understanding. He felt very happy when he got to know that I am a tribal girl. He also introduced me to other leaders. I feel happy to be an Indian and also proud to have an Indian Prime Minister like him," said Sanjukta.
The J 8 Summit commenced on July 5 and will culminate on July 12.
