KOCHI: The Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Thrikkakara, recently organised a merit awards ceremony to felicitate young achievers from Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya. The event was sponsored by Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO). Students who scored top ranks in the CBSE AISSCE and IIT-JEE were awarded shields and merit certificates at the special function. Eminent litterateur M Leelavathi was the chief guest of the function.NPOL Director S Ananathanarayanan and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Director E Raman Kutty delivered the felicitation speech. Among those who spoke on the occasion were NPOL Associate Director A Unnikrishnan, Chairman of NPOL School Management Council K V Rajasekharan Nair, and Principal of Bhavan’s Varuna Vidyalaya Sunitha. The chief guest also planted a sapling in the NPOL compound to commemorate the occasion.
