Abu Ukasha, also known as Hanzullah, was apprehended by security forces during an operation in Sogam area of Kupwara on Monday, a police official said.
After Ukasha's disclosure, the security forces launched a search operation in the nearby forests to track down another LeT militant Abu Bakar.
The search operation was still in progress when reports last came in.
Ukasha, a resident of Pakistan, is being questioned for information about the militant network in north Kashmir region where he was active for several years now, the official said.
