London: Terrorists have seized two more towns in Iraq's Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, after security forces abandoned their posts, a media report said on Friday.
Armed men entered Jalulah and Saaiydiyah and asked the forces to leave from the two towns immediately, BBC reported.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) terrorists on Tuesday captured Iraq's second largest city Mosul, capital of Nineveh province.
The ISIL terrorists on Wednesday also seized Salahudin province's capital city of Tikrit, located 140 km northwest of Iraq's capital Baghdad.
Terrorists also seized the battlefield-town of Saqlawiyah, 10 km south of Fallujah, after fighting with the troops who left their bases around the town and had headed toward Baghdad.
According to a UN report, the terrorists carried out executions of civilians and Iraqi soldiers in Mosul, including 17 civilians killed in one street.
The sunni-led ISIL terrorists have threatened to also seize Baghdad and regions further south dominated by Iraq's shia majority, whom they regard as "infidels".
The ISIL is an active jihadi terrorist group prevalent in Iraq and Syria.
It was established in the early years of the Iraq War and has pledged its allegiance to Al Qaeda.
