Srinagar: A solider succumbed to his injuries even as a terrorist was shot dead by the Army in an ongoing gunfight in Kashmir on Wednesday.
A fierce gunbattle erupted between the Army and a group of terrorists after they tried to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) near Macchil sector of Kupwara district in Kashmir.
Five soldiers have also been reported injured in the operation.
An official said soldiers have been engaging the terrorists since Tuesday and the gunfight is still on.
