What turned out to be a highlight at the dance show organised by Kids for Kids International (KFK) on Saturday evening at the Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall was the little kids’ feet-stomping performance along with the members of the Raack Academy.
“The kids were trained by the dancers from the Raack Academy. Even though the kids aren’t professional dancers or singers, they put up such a magnificent show. It was a huge hit and a lot of fun,” said Shirley Abraham, mother of Rebecca Grace Abraham, a founding member of KFK, a not-for-profit organisation working for the education of abandoned kids.
The fifth edition of the annual fundraiser also had a powerful skit and choir singing by folks from KFK. “What’s interesting is the themes we have worked on these five years — all start with the letter ‘A’,” added Shirley. The kids get to decide and choose the themes for the fundraiser every year. Arise, Ablaze, Alive and Ascend have been the themes so far.
The proceeds from the performance will be used to fund the education of underprivileged children, support an orphanage – Ashish Bhavan, Clarkes School for Deaf and Mentally Challenged and run an HIV+ AIDS support desk.
